So I a not sure I can give this Showbiz Pizza thing up yet. This pizza place was awesome. Its where my love affair with video games all started. And in a crazy way its where, through video games, I have been trying to get back to.

I hate the 80's*

I have no intelligent answer to why I hate the 80's. I guess its because I grew up during them. In 1980 I started kindergarten which kept things numerically neat as I progressed through school and the decade (e.g. 1st grade-1981, 5th grade=1985, you get the idea).

Let's face it, the stuff was ugly back then, and its really ugly now. Its merely a sign that my generation has taken over and can't produce new ideas – we must imitate what we grew up with. I guess eventually we will have to re-explore the 90's. Good thing I held on to my big sweaters and Alice In Chains records.

Luckily this fad is about half way over, I guess I could just hunker down and endure. I must admit most of my animosity is generated by a hurt inside. A wound I carry deep that the most beloved item of clothing I had as kid has failed to make a comeback – the parachute pant. That and I never had one of those nifty red Michael Jackson Jackets.

At least we got a pretty cool Transformer movie out of deal.

* I must admit, 1986 was probably the best year for Heavy Metal (http://heavymetal.about.com/od/toppicks/tp/bestof1986.htm)
